Our Assistant to the Editor had a lovely weekend away at the end of the summer, after receiving a wonderful offer to visit Ox Pasture Hall. This picturesque country hotel is set in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, and is just a few miles from the seaside town of Scarborough.
Lauren and her partner stayed the night at the hotel, and she was delighted to share a review of her experience with the Dotty Vintage readers.
When I arrived at the hotel, the first thing I noticed was the rolling hills and the beautiful English countryside all around; it really offers the perfect backdrop for any wedding.
Luxurious Suite Accommodation
After a three hour journey from Nottingham, it was lovely to be greeted by such a friendly smile. We were asked what time we would like our afternoon tea then shown to our suite.
The fresh flowers on the coffee table were a great touch but I was immediately drawn to the luxurious bathroom, with two sink basins, waterfall taps, large bathtub and walk in shower; it was pure heaven.
The suite also included a large living area – this would be a great space for wedding preparations. The hotel provided us with soft bathrobes and a huge bed! It was the best night sleep I have had in a very long time.
Delicious Afternoon Tea
After settling into our suite, we headed to the bar area for our afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is one of my favourite treats so I was very much looking forward to this.
We were served delicate finger sandwiches, two scones and a wide range of desserts which included meringues, chocolate brownies, shortbread and fudge.
One word, scrumdiddlyumptious!
Indulgent Evening Meal
Before we knew it, it was time for our evening meal in the Courtyard Restaurant.
We had a lovely table overlooking the pretty front garden and the food was simply to die for, with immaculate presentation and locally sourced produce.
We were impressed with our 3 course meal and would highly recommend the restaurant.
Wedding Facilities
Weddings are very popular at the Ox Pasture Hall all year round. With the beautiful grounds and backdrops I can see each season bringing a unique charm.
I spoke to Lyndsey (the Wedding Coordinator) who emphasised that no wedding should be the same which is why this venue is perfect. The Ox Pasture Hall acts as a black canvas; you can choose to have your wedding indoors, outdoors, on the restaurant terrace or in the barn.
I would like to say thank you to Ox Pasture Hall for my stay, it was truly beautiful get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
For more information on the venue, please feel free to visit their website, Facebook Page or Twitter Account for the latest news and special offers.
